Ride the Lightning

Ride the Lightning

It has been a little while since I posted much on here photo related.  Of course that is the point of this whole endeavor, which means I am failing it miserably.  We did go to the beach again this year.  We didn't go last year.  I will have a post in the near future about that.  Don't worry, its not vacation snapshots like I posted before.  It is mildly more interesting than that.

However, when we were there I got to watch a storm out over the ocean, and I had the chance to actually photograph it.  It was the first time I was able to capture lightning.  I have wanted to since I made the song project a more-or-less permanent personal project.

The song in question is Metallica's Ride the Lightning, from the album of the same name.  That particular album has my favorite Metallica song on it, Fade to Black.  The little intro to that song was one of the first things I learned how to play on the guitar.

But this isn't about Fade to Black, but about Lightning.

Witnessing this storm, and actually capturing it, inspired me to post again.  It is a bit ironic that this fits in more with a landscape theme, than the portraits that I really love. Hopefully I'll ride this wave of enthusiasm into more frequent posting.
