Oh look! A doggy picture!

I'm convinced that most of the high end photo gear that finds its way into us normal folks' homes is used to make pictures of nothing but family pets.  A quick look through any photo-forum should prove part of my theory.  I'm not sure why that is.  Maybe because it's too heavy to take on vacation, and most of us are too afraid to aim our lenses at people?  Pets generally don't complain about having their picture taken, and it offers excellent justification for buying more gear.

This is a snapshot* of my family's new doggy.  I think we are naming her Jasmine (Jazzy).  I, personally, am not sure about this whole deal yet.  I grew up with too many dogs.  But, at least now I have justification to buy a new lens... whenever Nikon gets around to announcing and building a new one I want.

*Okay, okay, there is a large softbox involved here-- but it is still very much a grabshot of a half asleep puppy.
